Starting today in Toronto, Canada, the IWBF U-23 World Wheelchair Basketball Championship features the top 12 men’s junior national teams in the world! The tournament tips off today as all 12 teams play their opening match. Highlights of today’s action include the opening ceremony at 12:00 ET, hosts Canada taking on Italy, and defending champions Germany facing African champions South Africa at 3:00 pm ET!

Pool play runs through June 13, with the final rounds taking place the following three days. The gold medal game will take place on June 16 at noon, and the 2017 Men’s Junior World Champions will be crowned! Back at the end of April, the Scottish Powerchair Football League had its final matchday. The league title came down to the final match as Tayside Dynamos and Clyde Alba fought to a 0-0 draw. The Dynamos won their third consecutive title by 1 point in the closest title race to date! Coming up June 9 and 10 in Phoenix, Arizona, Ability 360 is hosting the third annual Cactus Classic, which is a 3 on 3 standup amputee basketball tournament! The only event of its kind, the Classic is open to players of all skill levels with upper and/or lower extremity amputations. New this year is the recreational division allowing first time teams and occasional players to play in a more relaxed environment, while experienced teams can play in the competitive division.

Finally, the wheelchair competitions at the French Open take place June 8-10 in Paris! The tournament features eight singles competitors and four doubles teams for both men and women. You can follow along using the “Draws” page on the official French Open website.
